Al-Hijr Verse 33

He replied, “It is not for me to prostrate to a human You created from sounding clay moulded from black mud.”

He said, “I am not such to prostrate before a human whom You created from sounding clay, made of aging mud.”

Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.'

and he answered, ‘I will not bow to a mortal You created from dried clay, formed from dark mud.’

He said it was not for me that should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded.

(Iblis) said; "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape."

He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud."

"How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?"

He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.”

Said he, ‘I will not prostrate before a human whom You have created out of a dry clay [drawn] from an aging mud.’

(Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself before a mortal, whom You have created from dried, sounding clay, from molded dark mud."

He replied, `I would never submit to a human being whom You have created from dry ringing clay (formed) from black mud, moulded into shape.´

He said: "I was not to prostrate to (a) human You created him from black (foul mud) from dry mud/clay smoothened/rotted

He answered, "It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud."

Said he, "Why should I prostrate myself before a mortal whom you have created from potter´s (sound emitting) clay of black mud wrought into form

[Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud."

He said: O Iblis, what is the reason that thou art not with those who make obeisance?

He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape.

He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered!

Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay".

He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud'

[Iblis] said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to a human, whom You created from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud."

He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud."

He said, “I am not about to prostrate myself before a human being, whom You created from clay, from molded mud.”

Said he, `I was not about to prostrate myself, I should not prostrate myself, before a mortal whom You have created out of a dry clay [drawn] from malleable mud'.

(Iblis) said;I am not one to prostrate myself to a human, whom You created from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud.

this is like when he said,

أَنَاْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِين

I am better than him (Adam), You created me from Fire and him You created from clay. (7;12)

أَرَءَيْتَكَ هَـذَا الَّذِى كَرَّمْتَ عَلَىَّ

"Do you see this one whom You have honored above me..." (17;62

It is not I", Iblis said, "who would cast himself down in reverence to a human whom You created from dried clay, a product of dark modeling clay that has been polished
