وَرَبُّكَ الْغَفُوْرُ ذُو الرَّحْمَةِۗ لَوْ يُؤَاخِذُهُمْ بِمَا كَسَبُوْا لَعَجَّلَ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابَۗ بَلْ لَّهُمْ مَّوْعِدٌ لَّنْ يَّجِدُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ مَوْىِٕلًا  ( الكهف: ٥٨ )

And your Lord
l-ghafūru
ٱلْغَفُورُ
(is) the Most Forgiving

l-raḥmati
ٱلرَّحْمَةِۖ
(of) the Mercy

He were to seize them

surely, He (would) have hastened

ٱلْعَذَابَۚ
the punishment

(is) an appointment

يَجِدُوا۟
they will find

other than it

دُونِهِۦ

an escape

Wa Rabbukal Ghafooru zur rahmati law yu'aakhi zuhum bimaa kasaboo la'ajala lahumul 'azaab; bal lahum maw'idul lany yajidoo min doonihee maw'ilaa (al-Kahf 18:58)

Sahih International:

And your Lord is the Forgiving, the possessor of mercy. If He were to impose blame upon them for what they earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment. Rather, for them is an appointment from which they will never find an escape. (Al-Kahf [18] : 58)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Your Lord is the Most Forgiving, the Lord of Mercy. If He seizes them for what they did, He may cause the punishment to befall them sooner, but there is an appointed time for them, from which they can never find a place of refuge.
