Maryam Verse 40

Indeed, it is We Who will succeed the earth and whoever is on it. And to Us they will ˹all˺ be returned.

It is We Who will inherit the earth and all those who are on it, and to Us they will be returned.

Surely We shall inherit the earth and all that are upon it, and unto Us they shall be returned.

It is We who will inherit the earth and all who are on it: they will all be returned to Us.

Verily We! We shall inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon: and Unto Us they shall be returned.

It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon; to Us will they all be returned.

Ultimately, We shall inherit the earth and whatever is on it; to Us shall they be returned.

Verily We shall inherit the earth and whosoever is on it, and to Us they will return.

Indeed We shall inherit the earth and all that is on it, and only towards Us will they return.

Indeed We shall inherit the earth and whoever there is on it, and to Us they shall be brought back.

Surely it is We alone Who will inherit the earth and all who live on it; and to Us all will be brought back.

It is We Who will remain after the earth and (all) who are inhabiting it have perished. To Us shall they all be returned.

That We, We inhabit the earth/Planet Earth, and who (is) on it, and to Us they return.

Indeed We shall inherit the earth and all that is on it, and only towards Us will they return.

And warn them of the Day of Sighs (Anguish, Regret, Distress) when the matter is determined. Now they are heedless, and believe not.

Verily! We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned,

And warn them of the day of Regret, when the matter is decided. And they are (now) in negligence and they believe not.

Surely We inherit the earth and all those who are on it, and to Us they shall be returned.

Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they are returned.

We are the heirs of the earth and those living in it will all return to Us.

For We shall inherit the earth and all that are on it. To Us, they shall return.

Verily, We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned.

It is We who will inherit the earth and all who dwell upon it: they shall all return to Us.

It is We who will inherit the earth and everyone on it, and to Us they will be returned.

Indeed We (inn nahnu, [a repetition of the first person] for emphasis), shall inherit the earth and all who are on it, of rational beings and others, by destroying them, and to Us they shall be returned, thereon [on the Day of Resurrection] for requital.

Verily, We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned.

Allah is informing that He is the Creator, the Owner and the Controller of all matters. All of the creation will be destroyed and only He, the Most High and Most Holy, will remain. There is no one who can claim absolute ownership and control of affairs besides Him. He is the Inheritor of all His creation. He is the Eternal, Who will remain after they are gone and He is the Judge of their affairs. Therefore, no soul will be done any injustice, nor wronged even the weight of a mosquito or an atom.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Hazm bin Abi Hazm Al-Quta`i said,

"Umar bin Abdul-Aziz wrote to Abdul-Hamid bin Abdur-Rahman, who was the governor of Kufah;

`Thus, to proceed;Verily, Allah prescribed death for His creatures when He created them and He determined their final destination. He said in that which He revealed in His truthful Book, which He guarded with His knowledge and made His angels testify to its preservation, that He will inherit the earth and all who are on it, and they will all be returned to Him."
