Taha Verse 11

But when he approached it, he was called, “O Moses!

When he came to it, he was called, “O Moses,

When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses,

When he came to the fire, he was summoned, ‘Moses!

Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa!

But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard; "O Moses!

When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses!

When he approached it, a voice called out:

So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!”

So when he came to it, he was called, ‘O Moses!

Then when he came near to it, he was called by name: "O Moses!

And when he came close to this (fire) he was hailed, `O Moses!

So when he came to it, (it) was called: "You Moses."

So when he came near the fire, it was announced, "O Moosa!"

Behold, he saw a fire: and said to his folk, "Tarry ye; verily, I perceive a fire far off. Perhaps I may bring you there from a brand, or may find some guidance (news, information) by the fire."

And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)!

When he saw a fire, he said to his people: Stay, I see a fire; haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find guidance at the fire.

So when he came to it, a voice was uttered: O Musa:

And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses!

When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses,

When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses,

And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa!"

When he came close to it, a voice called out, "Moses,

Then, when he reached it, he was called, “O Moses.

And when he reached it -- it was a boxthorn -- he was called [by name], `O Moses!

The First Revelation to Musa

Allah, the Exalted, says,

فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا

And when he came to it,

This is referring to the fire when he approached it.

نُودِي يَا مُوسَى



He was called by name;"O Musa!"

In another Ayah it says,

نُودِىَ مِن شَاطِىءِ الْوَادِى الَايْمَنِ فِى الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ أَن يمُوسَى إِنِّى أَنَا اللَّهُ

He was called from the right side of the valley, in the blessed place, from the tree;"O Musa! Verily, I am Allah." (28;30)

However, here Allah says
