Al-Mu'minun Verse 80

And He is the One Who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the alternation of the day and night. Will you not then understand?

It is He Who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day. Do you not understand?

It is He who gives life, and makes to die, and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day; what, will you not understand?

it is He who gives life and death; the alternation of night and day depends on Him; will you not use your minds?

And He it is Who quickeneth and causeth to die, and His is the alternation of night and day; will ye not then reflect?

It is He Who gives life and death, and to Him (is due) the alternation of Night and Day; will ye not then understand?

It is He Who gives life and causes death, and He holds mastery over the alternation of night and day. Do you not understand this?

It is He who gives you life and death, and His the alternation of night and day. Even then you do not understand,

And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and for Him are the alternations of night and day; so do you not have sense?

And it is He who gives life and brings death, and due to Him is the alternation of day and night. Do you not exercise your reason?

He it is Who gives life and causes to die, and the alternation of night and day (with their periods shortening and lengthening) occurs in obedience to Him (and for the purposes He has established). Will you not, then, reason and understand (that there cannot be another deity besides God)?

It is He Who gives life and causes death and He alone controls the alternation of night and day. Will you not then make use of your understanding?

And He is who revives/makes alive and makes die, and to Him the night`s and the daytime`s difference, so do you not reason/comprehend ?

And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and for Him are the alternations of night and day; so do you not have sense?

And He it is Who has sown you broadcast in the earth, and unto Him shall you be gathered.

And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand?

And He it is Who multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.

And He it is Who gives life and causes death, and (in) His (control) is the alternation of the night and the day; do you not then understand?

And He it is Who giveth life and causeth death, and His is the difference of night and day. Have ye then no sense?

It is He who gives life and causes death and it is He who alternates night and day. Will you not then understand?

It is He who revives and makes to die, and to Him belong the alternation of the night and the day. Will you not understand!

And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand

He is the One who gives life and causes death and He controls the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand?

And it is He who gives life and brings death, and to Him is the alternation of night and day. Do you not understand?

And He it is Who gives life, by breathing the Spirit into the embryo (mudgha), and brings death, and due to Him is the alternation of night and day, in darkness and brightness, [and through] increase and diminution. Will you not then comprehend?, His handiwork, exalted be He, and so reflect?

وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ

And it is He Who gives life and causes death,

meaning, He will bring the scattered bones back to life and cause the death of the nations,

وَلَهُ اخْتِلَفُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ

and His is the alternation of night and day.

meaning, by His command night and day are subjugated, each of them following the other and never departing from that pattern, as Allah says;

لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِى لَهَأ أَن تدْرِكَ القَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ

It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. (36;40)

أَفَلَ تَعْقِلُونَ



Will you not then understand!

means, do you not have minds that tell you of the Almighty, All-Knowing to Whom all things are subjugated, Who has power over all things and to Whom all things submit!
The Idolators thought that Resurrection after Death was very unlikely

Then Allah tells us about those who denied the resurrection, who were like the disbelievers who came before them;

بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الاَْوَّلُونَ
