Al-Mu'minun Verse 96

Respond to evil with what is best. We know well what they claim.[[ Their claims that there are many gods, and that the Prophet is a liar, a poet, etc. ]]

Repel evil with what is best; We know well what they claim.

Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe.

Repel evil with good- We are well aware of what they attribute to Us-

Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter.

Repel evil with that which is best; We are well acquainted with the things they say.

(O Muhammad)! Repel evil in the best manner. We are well aware of all that they say about you.

Dispel evil with what is good. We know well what they attribute (to Us).

Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate.

Repel ill [conduct] with that which is the best. We know best whatever they allege.

(But whatever they may say or do) repel the evil (done to you and committed against your mission) with the best (of what you can do). We know best all that they falsely attribute to Us.

Repel (their) evil (by repaying it) with that which is the fairest. We know very well (the things) they allege (about you).

Push/repel the sin/crime with which it is best , We are more knowledgeable with what they describe/categorize.

Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate.

And verily We are able to show you that which We have promised them.

Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best-Acquainted with the things they utter.

And surely We are well Able to show thee what We promise them.

Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe.

Repel evil with that which is better. We are Best Aware of that which they allege.

Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God.

Repel evil with that which is better. We know that which they describe.

Repel evil with that which is better. We are best-acquainted with the things they utter.

Repel evil with what is best, We are well aware of the things they say,

Repel evil by what is better. We are aware of what they describe.

Ward off with that which is better, that is to say, with the [better] trait of pardoning and shunning them, the evil [act], the hurt they cause you -- this was [revealed] before the command to fight [them]. We know best what they allege, [what] they invent of lies and [what they] say and so We will requite them for it.

ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّيَةَ

Repel evil with that which is better.

This is like the Ayah;

ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِى بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِىٌّ حَمِيمٌوَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ

Repel (the evil) with one which is better, then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient.

meaning, nobody will be helped or inspired to follow this advice or attain this quality,
إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ
(except those who are patient),

meaning, those who patiently bear people's insults and bad treatment and deal with them in a good manner when they are on the receiving end of bad treatment from them,

وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَأ إِلاَّ ذُو حَظِّ عَظِيمٍ

and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion.

means, in this world and the Hereafter. (41;34-35)

نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ



We are best-acquainted with the things they utter.

And Allah says;

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ
