وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اَنَّمَا نُمْلِيْ لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّاَنْفُسِهِمْ ۗ اِنَّمَا نُمْلِيْ لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوْٓا اِثْمًا ۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِيْنٌ   ( آل عمران: ١٧٨ )

walā
وَلَا
And (let) not
yaḥsabanna
يَحْسَبَنَّ
think
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوٓا۟
disbelieved
annamā
أَنَّمَا
that
num'lī
نُمْلِى
We give respite
lahum
لَهُمْ
to them
khayrun
خَيْرٌ
(is) good
li-anfusihim
لِّأَنفُسِهِمْۚ
for themselves
innamā
إِنَّمَا
Only
num'lī
نُمْلِى
We give respite
lahum
لَهُمْ
to them
liyazdādū
لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟
so that they may increase
ith'man
إِثْمًاۚ
(in) sins
walahum
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
ʿadhābun
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
muhīnun
مُّهِينٌ
humiliating

Wa laa yahsabannal lazeena kafarooo annamaa numlee lahum khairulli anfusihim; innamaa numlee lahum liyazdaadooo ismaa wa lahum 'azaabum muheen (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:178)

Sahih International:

And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment. (Ali 'Imran [3] : 178)

Those who disbelieve should not think that the respite We give them is good for them. In fact, We give them respite only that they may increase in sin, and for them there is a humiliating punishment.
