فَاِنْ يَّصْبِرُوْا فَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ ۚوَاِنْ يَّسْتَعْتِبُوْا فَمَا هُمْ مِّنَ الْمُعْتَبِيْنَ  ( فصلت: ٢٤ )

Then if
yaṣbirū
يَصْبِرُوا۟
they endure
fal-nāru
فَٱلنَّارُ
the Fire
mathwan
مَثْوًى
(is) an abode
lahum
لَّهُمْۖ
for them;
wa-in
وَإِن
and if
yastaʿtibū
يَسْتَعْتِبُوا۟
they ask for favor
famā
فَمَا
then not
hum
هُم
they
mina
مِّنَ
(will be) of
l-muʿ'tabīna
ٱلْمُعْتَبِينَ
those who receive favor

Fa-iny yasbiroo fan Naaru maswal lahum wa iny-yasta'tiboo famaa hum minal mu'tabeen (Fuṣṣilat 41:24)

Sahih International:

So [even] if they are patient, the Fire is a residence for them; and if they ask to appease [Allah], they will not be of those who are allowed to appease. (Fussilat [41] : 24)

Now, if they endure patiently, even then the Fire is their abode, and if they seek forgiveness, they are not among those (who could be) forgiven.
