وَجَزٰۤؤُا سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِّثْلُهَا ۚفَمَنْ عَفَا وَاَصْلَحَ فَاَجْرُهٗ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ  ( الشورى: ٤٠ )

wajazāu
وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟
(The) recompense
sayyi-atin
سَيِّئَةٍ
(of) an evil
sayyi-atun
سَيِّئَةٌ
(is) an evil
mith'luhā
مِّثْلُهَاۖ
like it
faman
فَمَنْ
But whoever
ʿafā
عَفَا
pardons
wa-aṣlaḥa
وَأَصْلَحَ
and makes reconciliation
fa-ajruhu
فَأَجْرُهُۥ
then his reward
ʿalā
عَلَى
(is) on
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah
innahu
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed He
لَا
(does) not
yuḥibbu
يُحِبُّ
like
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers

Wa jazaaa'u saiyi'atin saiyi'tum misluha faman 'afaa wa aslaha fa ajruhoo 'alal laah; innahoo laa yuhibbuz zaalimeen (aš-Šūrā 42:40)

Sahih International:

And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation – his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. (Ash-Shuraa [42] : 40)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

The recompense of evil is evil like it. Then the one who forgives and opts for compromise has his reward undertaken by Allah. Surely, He does not like the unjust.
