An-Nazi'at Verse 34

But, when the Supreme Disaster[[ This is the second Blast which will cause the dead to come to life for judgment. See {39:68}.]] comes to pass—

But when the Supreme Calamity comes,

Then, when the Great Catastrophe comes

When the great overwhelming event arrives

Then when the Grand Calamity shall come

Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),-

But when the great calamity will come about

When the great calamity comes,

So when the greatest universal disaster arrives,

When the Greatest Catastrophe befalls

But when the great overwhelming event comes;

Behold! when that great calamity comes to pass,

So if/when the Calamity/Greatest Disaster/Resurrection Day the greatest came

So when the greatest universal disaster arrives,

But when the great overwhelming calamity comes

But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.),

The day when man remembers all that he strove for,

But when the great predominating calamity comes;

But when the great disaster cometh,

On the day when the great calamity comes,

But when the Great Catastrophe comes,

But when there comes the Greatest Catastrophe

When the great over-whelming event arrives,

But when the Great Cataclysm arrives.

So when the Greatest Catastrophe befalls -- the second blast --

The Day of Judgement, its Pleasures and Hell, and that its Time is not known

Allah says,

فَإِذَا جَاءتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَى




But when there comes the Great Catastrophe,

This refers to the Day of Judgement. This has been said by Ibn Abbas.

It has been called this because it will overcome every matter. It will be frightful and horrifying.

As Allah says,

وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ

And the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter. (54;46)

Then Allah says,

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الاِْنسَانُ مَا سَعَى

Then when the calamitous eventful event comes to pass
