وَاِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِنْ قَوْمٍ خِيَانَةً فَانْۢبِذْ اِلَيْهِمْ عَلٰى سَوَاۤءٍۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْخَاۤىِٕنِيْنَ ࣖ   ( الأنفال: ٥٨ )

wa-immā
وَإِمَّا
And if
takhāfanna
تَخَافَنَّ
you fear

khiyānatan
خِيَانَةً
betrayal
fa-inbidh
فَٱنۢبِذْ
throw back
ilayhim
إِلَيْهِمْ
to them
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ

sawāin
سَوَآءٍۚ
equal (terms)
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
yuḥibbu
يُحِبُّ
love
l-khāinīna
ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ
the traitors

Wa immaa takhaafana min qawmin khiyaanatan fambiz ilaihim 'alaa sawaaa'; innal laaha laayuhibbul khaaa'ineen (al-ʾAnfāl 8:58)

Sahih International:

If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors. (Al-Anfal [8] : 58)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

And if you apprehend a breach from a people, then, throw (the treaty) towards them in straight-forward terms. Surely, Allah does not like those who breach the trust.
