Al-Fajr Verse 4

and the night when it passes!

and by the night when it comes,

by the night when it journeys on!

by the passing night––

And by the night when it departeth,

And by the Night when it passeth away;-

and by the night when it departs.

The night as it advances,

And by oath of the night when it recedes

by the night when it departs!

And the night as it journeys on (towards an end).

And the Night (- Lailatul-Qadr, the Blessed Night), when it moves on (to its close).

And/by the night when (it) goes/departs

And by oath of the night when it recedes

And the night when it passes on

And by the night when it departs.

Truly in this is an oath for men of understanding.

And the night when it departs.

And the night when it departeth,

and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality).

by the night when it journeys on!

And by the night when it departs.

and by the passing night,

And the night as it recedes.

and [by] the night in motion, falling or receding;

And by the night when it departs.

Al-`Awfi reported from Ibn `Abbas that he said,

"When it goes away." `

Abdullah bin Zubayr said,

"As some parts of it remove other parts of it."

Mujahid, Abu Al-`Aliyah, Qatadah, and Malik who reported it from Zayd bin Aslam and Ibn Zayd, they all said;

"When it moves along."

Concerning Allah's statement,

هَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِي حِجْرٍ

And by the night when it flows along its way, then it softly moves away
