وَلَىِٕنْ سَاَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ اِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوْضُ وَنَلْعَبُۗ قُلْ اَبِاللّٰهِ وَاٰيٰتِهٖ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ   ( التوبة: ٦٥ )

wala-in
وَلَئِن
And if
sa-altahum
سَأَلْتَهُمْ
you ask them
layaqūlunna
لَيَقُولُنَّ
surely they will say
innamā
إِنَّمَا
"Only
kunnā
كُنَّا
we were
nakhūḍu
نَخُوضُ
conversing
wanalʿabu
وَنَلْعَبُۚ
and playing"
qul
قُلْ
Say
abil-lahi
أَبِٱللَّهِ
"Is it Allah
waāyātihi
وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ
and His Verses
warasūlihi
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
and His Messenger
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
(that) you were
tastahziūna
تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
mocking?"

Wala'in sa altahum layaqoolunna innamaa kunnaa nakhoodu wa nal'ab; qul abillaahi wa 'Aayaatihee wa Rasoolihee kuntum tastahzi'oon (at-Tawbah 9:65)

Sahih International:

And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" (At-Tawbah [9] : 65)

And if you ask them, they will say, “We were just chatting and having fun.” Say, “Is it of Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were making fun?”
