اَفَاَمِنُوْٓا اَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ غَاشِيَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ اللّٰهِ اَوْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً وَّهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ( يوسف: ١٠٧ )
Afa aminooo an taatiya hum ghaashiyatum min 'azaabil laahi aw taatiyahumus Saa'atu baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon (Yūsuf 12:107)
English Sahih:
Then do they feel secure that there will not come to them an overwhelming [aspect] of the punishment of Allah or that the Hour will not come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive? (Yusuf [12] : 107)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Est-ce qu'ils sont sûrs que le châtiment d'Allah ne viendra pas les couvrir ou que l'Heure ne leur viendra pas soudainement, sans qu'ils s'en rendent compte? (Yusuf [12] : 107)

Ces polythéistes se croient-ils à l’abri d’une punition dans ce bas monde qui les submergera et qu’ils seront incapables de repousser ou de l’Heure qui surviendra par surprise sans qu'ils ne s'y attendent et y soient préparés. C’est parce qu’ils croient être à l’abri de tout cela, qu’ils n’ont pas la foi.
