وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَاِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ اَبْصَارُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْاۗ يٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِيْ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيْنَ ( الأنبياء: ٩٧ )
Waqtarabal wa'dul haqqu fa-izaa hiya shaakhisatun absaarul lazeena kafaroo yaawailanaa qad kunna fee ghaflatim min haaza bal kunnaa zaalimeen (al-ʾAnbiyāʾ 21:97)
English Sahih:
And [when] the true promise [i.e., the resurrection] has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers." (Al-Anbya [21] : 97)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
c'est alors que la vraie promesse s'approchera, tandis que les regards de ceux qui ont mécru se figent: «Malheur à nous! Nous y avons été inattentifs. Bien plus, nous étions des injustes». (Al-Anbiya' [21] : 97)

Lorsqu’ils sortiront, la Résurrection sera proche et ses évènements terrifiants seront imminents. Les yeux des mécréants seront grands ouverts et ils diront: Nous allons à notre perte ! Nous étions vraiment distraits et inattentifs dans le bas monde, ce qui explique que nous ne nous soyons pas préparés à ce Jour terrible. Notre mécréance et notre désobéissance nous rendaient injustes.
