وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيْهِنَّۗ بَلْ اَتَيْنٰهُمْ بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِهِمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ۗ ( المؤمنون: ٧١ )
Wa lawit taba'al haqqu ahwaaa'ahum lafasadatis samaawaatu wal ardu wa man feehinnn; bal atainaahum bizikrihim fahum 'an zikrihim mu'ridon (al-Muʾminūn 23:71)
English Sahih:
But if the Truth [i.e., Allah] had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. (Al-Mu'minun [23] : 71)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Si la vérité était conforme à leurs passions, les cieux et la terre et ceux qui s'y trouvent seraient, certes, corrompus. Au contraire, Nous leur avons donné leur rappel. Mais ils s'en détournent. (Al-Mu'minune [23] : 71)

Si Allah avait géré le monde selon ce que dictent leurs passions, les Cieux et la Terre ainsi que leurs habitants seraient tous corrompus. En effet, ces gens ignorent les conséquences des actes que leur dictent leurs passions.
