لَوْ نَشَاۤءُ جَعَلْنٰهُ اُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُوْنَ ( الواقعة: ٧٠ )

Nous voulions,
jaʿalnāhu
جَعَلْنَٰهُ
We (could) make it
Nous pourrions la rendre
ujājan
أُجَاجًا
salty
amère,
falawlā
فَلَوْلَا
then why are you not grateful?
pourquoi donc n’
tashkurūna
تَشْكُرُونَ
then why are you not grateful?
êtes-vous (pas) reconnaissants ?
Law nashaaa'u ja'alnaahu ujaajan falaw laa tashkuroon (al-Wāqiʿah 56:70)
English Sahih:
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? (Al-Waqi'ah [56] : 70)

Si Nous voulions, Nous la rendrions salée. Pourquoi n'êtes-vous donc pas reconnaissants? (Al-Waqi'a [56] : 70)

Si Nous voulions que cette eau soit très salée et inutilisable, ni à la boisson ni à l’irrigation, Nous l’aurions fait. Pourquoi n’êtes-vous pas reconnaissants envers Allah pour avoir, par miséricorde, fait descendre cette eau douce?
