فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطٰنُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وٗرِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِنْ سَوْاٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهٰىكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ ِالَّآ اَنْ تَكُوْنَا مَلَكَيْنِ اَوْ تَكُوْنَا مِنَ الْخٰلِدِيْنَ ( الأعراف: ٢٠ )
Fawaswasa lahumash Shaitaanu liyubdiya lahumaa maa wooriya 'anhumaa min saw aatihimaa wa qaala maa nahaakumaa Rabbukumaa 'an haazihish shajarati illaaa an takoonaa malakaini aw takoonaa minal khaalideen (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:20)
English Sahih:
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal." (Al-A'raf [7] : 20)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Puis le Diable, afin de leur rendre visible ce qui leur était caché - leurs nudités - leur chuchota, disant: «Votre Seigneur ne vous a interdit cet arbre que pour vous empêcher de devenir des Anges ou d'être immortels». (Al-A'raf [7] : 20)

Iblîs leur insuffla alors des paroles secrètes qui leur firent prendre conscience de leur nudité et leur dit: Allah ne vous défend de manger de cet arbre que pour vous empêcher de devenir des anges ou de rejoindre le rang de ceux qui resteront éternellement au Paradis.
