لَا تَعْتَذِرُوْا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِكُمْ ۗ اِنْ نَّعْفُ عَنْ طَاۤىِٕفَةٍ مِّنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَاۤىِٕفَةً ۢ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ࣖ ( التوبة: ٦٦ )
Laa ta'taziroo qad kafartum ba'da eemaanikum; in na'fu 'an taaa'ifatim minkum nu'az zib taaa'ifatam bi annahum kaanoo mujrimeen (at-Tawbah 9:66)
English Sahih:
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved [i.e., rejected faith] after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you – We will punish another faction because they were criminals. (At-Tawbah [9] : 66)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Ne vous excusez pas: vous avez bel et bien rejeté la foi après avoir cru. Si Nous pardonnons à une partie des vôtres, Nous en châtierons une autre pour avoir été des criminels. (At-Tawbah [9] : 66)

Ne vous justifiez pas par ces excuses mensongères. Vous avez révélé votre mécréance alors qu’auparavant vous la dissimuliez. Si nous pardonnons à certain d’entre vous pour avoir renoncé à être hypocrite, s’en être repentis et s’être mis à adorer sincèrement Allah, Nous châtierons les autres pour leur persistance à être hypocrite et pour ne pas s’en être repenti.
