تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍۘ مِنْهُمْ مَّنْ كَلَّمَ اللّٰهُ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَهُمْ دَرَجٰتٍۗ وَاٰتَيْنَا عِيْسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنٰتِ وَاَيَّدْنٰهُ بِرُوْحِ الْقُدُسِۗ وَلَوْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقْتَتَلَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَاۤءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنٰتُ وَلٰكِنِ اخْتَلَفُوْا فَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ اٰمَنَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ كَفَرَ ۗوَلَوْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ مَا اقْتَتَلُوْاۗ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيْدُ ࣖ ( البقرة: ٢٥٣ )
Tilka alrrusulu faddalna ba'dahum 'ala ba'din minhum man kallama Allahu warafa'a ba'dahum darajatin waatayna 'eesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtatala allatheena min ba'dihim min ba'di ma jaathumu albayyinatu walakini ikhtalafoo faminhum man amana waminhum man kafara walaw shaa Allahu ma iqtataloo walakinna Allaha yaf'alu ma yureedu (al-Baq̈arah 2:253)

ये रसूल ऐसे हुए है कि इनमें हमने कुछ को कुछ पर श्रेष्ठता प्रदान की। इनमें कुछ से तो अल्लाह ने बातचीत की और इनमें से कुछ को दर्जों की स्पष्ट से उच्चता प्रदान की। और मरयम के बेटे ईसा को हमने खुली निशानियाँ दी और पवित्र आत्मा से उसकी सहायता की। और यदि अल्लाह चाहता तो वे लोग, जो उनके पश्चात हुए, खुली निशानियाँ पा लेने के बाद परस्पर न लड़ते। किन्तु वे विभेद में पड़ गए तो उनमें से कोई तो ईमान लाया और उनमें से किसी ने इनकार की नीति अपनाई। और यदि अल्लाह चाहता तो वे परस्पर न लड़ते, परन्तु अल्लाह जो चाहता है, करता है
English Sahih:
Those messengers – some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit [i.e., Gabriel]. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends. ([2] Al-Baqarah : 253)

यह सब रसूल (जो हमने भेजे) उनमें से बाज़ को बाज़ पर फज़ीलत दी उनमें से बाज़ तो ऐसे हैं जिनसे ख़ुद ख़ुदा ने बात की उनमें से बाज़ के (और तरह पर) दर्जे बुलन्द किये और मरियम के बेटे ईसा को (कैसे कैसे रौशन मौजिज़े अता किये) और रूहुलकुदस (जिबरईल) के ज़रिये से उनकी मदद की और अगर ख़ुदा चाहता तो लोग इन (पैग़म्बरों) के बाद हुये वह अपने पास रौशन मौजिज़े आ चुकने पर आपस में न लड़ मरते मगर उनमें फूट पड़ गई पस उनमें से बाज़ तो ईमान लाये और बाज़ काफ़िर हो गये और अगर ख़ुदा चाहता तो यह लोग आपस में लड़ते मगर ख़ुदा वही करता है जो चाहता है
