فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ مُّوْسٰى بِاٰيٰتِنَا بَيِّنٰتٍ قَالُوْا مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّفْتَرًىۙ وَّمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهٰذَا فِيْٓ اٰبَاۤىِٕنَا الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ( القصص: ٣٦ )
But when
فَلَمَّا
फिर जब
came to them
جَآءَهُم
आया उनके पास
Musa
مُّوسَىٰ
मूसा
with Our Signs
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
साथ हमारी निशानियों के
clear
بَيِّنَٰتٍ
खुली-खुली
they said
قَالُوا۟
उन्होंने कहा
"Not
مَا
नहीं
(is) this
هَٰذَآ
ये
except
إِلَّا
मगर
a magic
سِحْرٌ
एक जादू है
invented
مُّفْتَرًى
बनावटी/गढ़ा हुआ
and not
وَمَا
और नहीं
we heard
سَمِعْنَا
सुना हमने
of this
بِهَٰذَا
इसके बारे में
among
فِىٓ
अपने आबा ओ अजदाद में
our forefathers"
ءَابَآئِنَا
अपने आबा ओ अजदाद में
our forefathers"
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
जो पहले(गुज़रे)
Falamma jaahum moosa biayatina bayyinatin qaloo ma hatha illa sihrun muftaran wama sami'na bihatha fee abaina alawwaleena (al-Q̈aṣaṣ 28:36)

फिर जब मूसा उनके पास हमारी खुली-खुली निशानियाँ लेकर आया तो उन्होंने कहा, 'यह तो बस घड़ा हुआ जादू है। हमने तो यह बात अपने अगले बाप-दादा में कभी सुनी ही नहीं।'
English Sahih:
But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidences, they said, "This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers." ([28] Al-Qasas : 36)
