۞ وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ الْبَحْرَ فَاَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُوْدُهٗ بَغْيًا وَّعَدْوًا ۗحَتّٰىٓ اِذَآ اَدْرَكَهُ الْغَرَقُ قَالَ اٰمَنْتُ اَنَّهٗ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا الَّذِيْٓ اٰمَنَتْ بِهٖ بَنُوْٓا اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ وَاَنَا۠ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ ( يونس: ٩٠ )
Wa jaawaznaa bi Baneee Israaa'eelal bahra fa atba'ahum Fir'awnu wa junooduhoo baghyanw wa 'adwan hattaaa izaaa adrakahul gharaqu qaala aamantu annnahoo laaa ilaaha illal lazeee aamanat bihee Banooo Israaa'eela wa ana minal muslimeen (al-Yūnus 10:90)
English Sahih:
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims." (Yunus [10] : 90)

ഇസ്രയേല് മക്കളെ നാം കടല് കടത്തി. അപ്പോള് ഫറവോനും അവന്റെ സൈന്യവും അക്രമിക്കാനും ദ്രോഹിക്കാനുമായി അവരെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മുങ്ങിച്ചാകുമെന്നായപ്പോള് ഫറവോന് പറഞ്ഞു: ''ഇസ്രയേല് മക്കള് വിശ്വസിച്ചവനല്ലാതെ ദൈവമില്ലെന്ന് ഞാനിതാ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് മുസ്ലിംകളില് പെട്ടവനാകുന്നു.'' (യൂനുസ് [10] : 90)

ഇസ്രായീല് സന്തതികളെ നാം കടല് കടത്തികൊണ്ടു പോയി. അപ്പോള് ഫിര്ഔനും അവന്റെ സൈന്യങ്ങളും ധിക്കാരവും അതിക്രമവുമായി അവരെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നു. ഒടുവില് മുങ്ങിമരിക്കാറായപ്പോള് അവന് പറഞ്ഞു: ഇസ്രായീല് സന്തതികള് ഏതൊരു ആരാധ്യനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവനല്ലാതെ യാതൊരു ഇലാഹുമില്ല എന്ന് ഞാന് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന് (അവന്ന്) കീഴ്പെട്ടവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലാകുന്നു.
