وَاِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا قَالُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا ۚ وَاِذَا خَلَوْا اِلٰى شَيٰطِيْنِهِمْ ۙ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۙاِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ( البقرة: ١٤ )
Wa izaa laqul lazeena aamanoo qaalooo aamannaa wa izaa khalw ilaa shayaateenihim qaalooo innaa ma'akum innamaa nahnu mustahzi'oon (al-Baq̈arah 2:14)
English Sahih:
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers." (Al-Baqarah [2] : 14)

സത്യവിശ്വാസികളെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമ്പോള് അവര് പറയും: ''ഞങ്ങളും വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.'' അവരും അവരുടെ പിശാചുക്കളും മാത്രമായാല് അവര് പറയും: ''ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം തന്നെയാണ്. ഞങ്ങള് അവരെ പരിഹസിക്കുക മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.'' (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 14)

വിശ്വാസികളെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുമ്പോള് അവര് പറയും; ഞങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന്. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ (കൂട്ടാളികളായ) പിശാചുക്കളുടെ അടുത്ത് തനിച്ചാകുമ്പോള് അവരോട് പറയും: ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം തന്നെയാകുന്നു. ഞങ്ങള് (മറ്റവരെ) കളിയാക്കുക മാത്രമായിരുന്നു.
