يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ اَبْصَارَهُمْ ۗ كُلَّمَآ اَضَاۤءَ لَهُمْ مَّشَوْا فِيْهِ ۙ وَاِذَآ اَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوْا ۗوَلَوْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَاَبْصَارِهِمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ࣖ ( البقرة: ٢٠ )
Yakaadul barqu yakhtafu absaarahum kullamaaa adaaa'a lahum mashaw feehi wa izaaa azlama 'alaihim qaamoo; wa law shaaa'al laahu lazahaba bisam'ihim wa absaarihim; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer (al-Baq̈arah 2:20)
English Sahih:
The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Every time it lights [the way] for them, they walk therein; but when darkness comes over them, they stand [still]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 20)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
മിന്നല്പ്പിണരുകള് അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചയെ റാഞ്ചിയെടുക്കാറാകുന്നു. അതിന്റെ വെട്ടമവര്ക്കു കിട്ടുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം അവരതിലൂടെ നടക്കും. ഇരുള്മൂടിയാലോ അവര് അറച്ചുനില്ക്കും. അല്ലാഹു ഇച്ഛിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില് അവരുടെ കേള്വിയും കാഴ്ചയും അവന് ഇല്ലാതാക്കുമായിരുന്നു. തീര്ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹു എല്ലാറ്റിനും കഴിവുറ്റവന് തന്നെ. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 20)

മിന്നല് അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകളെ റാഞ്ചിയെടുക്കുമാറാകുന്നു. അത് (മിന്നല്) അവര്ക്ക് വെളിച്ചം നല്കുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം അവര് ആ വെളിച്ചത്തില് നടന്നു പോകും. ഇരുട്ടാകുമ്പോള് അവര് നിന്നു പോകുകയും ചെയ്യും. അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില് അവരുടെ കേള്വിയും കാഴ്ചയും അവന് തീരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. നിസ്സംശയം അല്ലാഹു ഏത് കാര്യത്തിനും കഴിവുള്ളവനാണ്.
