لِلَّذِيْنَ يُؤْلُوْنَ مِنْ نِّسَاۤىِٕهِمْ تَرَبُّصُ اَرْبَعَةِ اَشْهُرٍۚ فَاِنْ فَاۤءُوْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ( البقرة: ٢٢٦ )
Lillazeena yu'loona min nisaaa'ihim tarabbusu arba'ati ashhurin fain faaa'oo fa innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem (al-Baq̈arah 2:226)
English Sahih:
For those who swear not to have sexual relations with their wives is a waiting time of four months, but if they return [to normal relations] – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 226)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടില്ലെന്ന് ശപഥം ചെയ്തവര്ക്ക് നാലുമാസം വരെ കാത്തിരിക്കാം. അവര് മടങ്ങുന്നുവെങ്കില് അല്ലാഹു ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും ദയാപരനുമാകുന്നു. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 226)

തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുമായി (ബന്ധപ്പെടുകയില്ലെന്ന്) ശപഥം ചെയ്ത് അകന്നു നില്ക്കുന്നവര്ക്ക് (അന്തിമ തീരുമാനത്തിന്) നാലുമാസം വരെ കാത്തിരിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. അതിനിടയില് അവര് (ശപഥം വിട്ട് ദാമ്പത്യത്തിലേക്ക്) മടങ്ങുകയാണെങ്കില് അല്ലാഹു ഏറെ പൊറുക്കുന്നവനും കരുണാനിധിയുമത്രെ.
