وَاِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاۤءَ فَبَلَغْنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمْسِكُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍ اَوْ سَرِّحُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍۗ وَلَا تُمْسِكُوْهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعْتَدُوْا ۚ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهٗ ۗ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوْٓا اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ هُزُوًا وَّاذْكُرُوْا نِعْمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ اَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ يَعِظُكُمْ بِهٖ ۗوَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ ࣖ ( البقرة: ٢٣١ )
Wa izaa tallaqtumun nisaaa'a fabalaghna ajala hunna fa amsikoohunna bima'roofin law sarrihoo hunna bima'roof; wa laa tumsikoo hunna diraa rallita'tadoo; wa mai yaf'al zaalika faqad zalama nafsah; wa laa tattakhizooo aayaatillaahi huzuwaa; wazkuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum wa maaa anzala 'alaikum minal kitaabi wal ikmati ya'izukum bih; wattaqul laaha wa'lamooo annal laaha bikulli shai'i 'Aleem (al-Baq̈arah 2:231)
English Sahih:
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book [i.e., the Quran] and wisdom [i.e., the Prophet's sunnah] by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 231)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
നിങ്ങള് സ്ത്രീകളെ വിവാഹമോചനം ചെയ്യുകയും അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ അവധി എത്തുകയും ചെയ്താല് അവരെ ന്യായമായ നിലയില് കൂടെ നിര്ത്തുക. അല്ലെങ്കില് മാന്യമായി പിരിച്ചയക്കുക. അവരെ ദ്രോഹിക്കാനായി അന്യായമായി പിടിച്ചുവെക്കരുത്. ആരെങ്കിലും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നുവെങ്കില് അവന് തനിക്കുതന്നെയാണ് ദ്രോഹം വരുത്തുന്നത്. അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങള് കളിയായിട്ടെടുക്കാതിരിക്കുവിന്. അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങള്ക്കേകിയ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങള് ഓര്ക്കുക. അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിക്കാനായി വേദപുസ്തകവും തത്ത്വജ്ഞാനവും ഇറക്കിത്തന്നതും ഓര്ക്കുക. അല്ലാഹുവെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക. അറിയുക: നിശ്ചയമായും അല്ലാഹു എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവനാണ്. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 231)

നിങ്ങള് സ്ത്രീകളെ വിവാഹമോചനം ചെയ്തിട്ട് അവരുടെ അവധി പ്രാപിച്ചാല് ഒന്നുകില് നിങ്ങളവരെ മര്യാദയനുസരിച്ച് കൂടെ നിര്ത്തുകയോ, അല്ലെങ്കില് മര്യാദയനുസരിച്ച് തന്നെ പിരിച്ചയക്കുകയോ ആണ് വേണ്ടത്. ദ്രോഹിക്കുവാന് വേണ്ടി അന്യായമായി നിങ്ങളവരെ പിടിച്ചു നിര്ത്തരുത്. അപ്രകാരം വല്ലവനും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന പക്ഷം അവന് തനിക്ക് തന്നെയാണ് ദ്രോഹം വരുത്തിവെക്കുന്നത്. അല്ലാഹുവിൻ്റെ തെളിവുകളെ നിങ്ങള് തമാശയാക്കിക്കളയരുത്. അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് ചെയ്ത അനുഗ്രഹം നിങ്ങള് ഓര്ക്കുക. നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് സാരോപദേശം നല്കിക്കൊണ്ട് അവനവതരിപ്പിച്ച വേദവും വിജ്ഞാനവും ഓര്മിക്കുക. അല്ലാഹുവെ നിങ്ങള് സൂക്ഷിക്കുക. അല്ലാഹു എല്ലാ കാര്യവും അറിയുന്നവനാണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
