فَدَلّٰىهُمَا بِغُرُورٍۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْاٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفٰنِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَّرَقِ الْجَنَّةِۗ وَنَادٰىهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ اَلَمْ اَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَاَقُلْ لَّكُمَآ اِنَّ الشَّيْطٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ ( الأعراف: ٢٢ )
Fadallaahumaa bighuroor; falammaa zaaqash shajarata badat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannati wa naadaahumaa Rabbuhumaaa alam anhakumaa 'an tilkumash shajarati wa aqul lakumaaa innash Shaitaana lakumaa 'aduwwum mubeen (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:22)
English Sahih:
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?" (Al-A'raf [7] : 22)

അങ്ങനെ അവരിരുവരെയും അവന് വഞ്ചനയിലൂടെ വശപ്പെടുത്തി. ഇരുവരും ആ മരം രുചിച്ചു. അതോടെ തങ്ങളുടെ നഗ്നത ഇരുവര്ക്കും വെളിപ്പെട്ടു. ആ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഇലകള് ചേര്ത്തുവെച്ച് അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരം മറയ്ക്കാന് തുടങ്ങി. അവരുടെ നാഥന് ഇരുവരെയും വിളിച്ചുചോദിച്ചു: ''ആ മരം നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഞാന് വിലക്കിയിരുന്നില്ലേ? പിശാച് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യക്ഷ ശത്രുവാണെന്ന് നിങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ലേ?'' (അല്അഅ്റാഫ് [7] : 22)

അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഇരുവരെയും വഞ്ചനയിലൂടെ അവന് തരംതാഴ്ത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അവര് ഇരുവരും ആ വൃക്ഷത്തില് നിന്ന് രുചി നോക്കിയതോടെ അവര്ക്ക് അവരുടെ ഗോപ്യസ്ഥാനങ്ങള് വെളിപ്പെട്ടു. ആ തോട്ടത്തിലെ ഇലകള് കൂട്ടിചേര്ത്ത് അവര് ഇരുവരും തങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരം പൊതിയാന് തുടങ്ങി. അവര് ഇരുവരെയും വിളിച്ച് അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: ആ വൃക്ഷത്തില് നിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ ഞാന് വിലക്കിയിട്ടില്ലേ? തീര്ച്ചയായും പിശാച് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യക്ഷശത്രുവാണെന്ന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ലേ?
