وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ ۗاِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْـُٔوْلًا ( الإسراء: ٣٦ )
And (do) not pursue
وَلَا تَقْفُ
பின் தொடராதே
what not
مَا لَيْسَ
எதை/இல்லை
you have
لَكَ
உனக்கு
of it
بِهِۦ
அதில்
any knowledge
عِلْمٌۚ
கல்வி அறிவு
Indeed the hearing
إِنَّ ٱلسَّمْعَ
நிச்சயமாக/செவி
and the sight
وَٱلْبَصَرَ
இன்னும் பார்வை
and the heart
وَٱلْفُؤَادَ
இன்னும் உள்ளம்
all those
كُلُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
எல்லாம்/இவை
will be
كَانَ
இருக்கின்றன
[about it]
عَنْهُ
அவற்றைப் பற்றி
questioned
مَسْـُٔولًا
விசாரிக்கப் படுபவையாக
Wa laa taqfu maa laisa laka bihee 'ilm; innas sam'a walbasara walfu'aada kullu ulaaa'ika kaana 'anhu mas'oolaa (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:36)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
(நபியே!) நீங்கள் அறியாத யாதொரு விஷயத்தையும் நீங்கள் பின்தொடராதீர்கள்! ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக காது, கண், உள்ளம் ஆகிய இவை ஒவ்வொன்றுமே (அவற்றின் செயலைப்பற்றி மறுமையில்) கேள்வி கேட்கப்படும்.
English Sahih:
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned. ([17] Al-Isra : 36)
