وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيْقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَۙ كِتٰبَ اللّٰهِ وَرَاۤءَ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۖ ( البقرة: ١٠١ )
Wa lammaa jaaa'ahum Rasoolum min 'indil laahi musaddiqul limaa ma'ahum nabaza fareequm minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba Kitaabal laahi waraaa'a zuhoorihim ka annahum laa ya'lamoon (al-Baq̈arah 2:101)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (நம்முடைய) தூதராகிய (நீங்கள்) அவர்களிடம் வந்து அவர்களிடமுள்ள (வேதத்)தை உண்மைப் படுத்தியபோதிலும், (முந்திய) வேதம் வழங்கப்பட்ட அவர்களில் பலர் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய (இந்த) திருமறையையே தாங்கள் அறியாதது போல் தங்கள் முதுகுக்குப் பின்னால் தூக்கிப்போட்டு விடுகின்றனர்.
English Sahih:
And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah [i.e., the Torah] behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]. ([2] Al-Baqarah : 101)
