لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْۢبَغِيْ لَهَآ اَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۗوَكُلٌّ فِيْ فَلَكٍ يَّسْبَحُوْنَ ( يس: ٤٠ )
Not the sun is permitted
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى
சூரியன் ஆகுமாகாது
for it -
لَهَآ
அதற்கு
that it overtakes
أَن تُدْرِكَ
அது அடைவது
the moon
ٱلْقَمَرَ
சந்திரனை
and not the night (can) outstrip
وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ
இரவு முந்திவிடாது
the day
ٱلنَّهَارِۚ
பகலை
but all
وَكُلٌّ
ஒவ்வொன்றும்
in an orbit
فِى فَلَكٍ
ஒரு கோளில்
they are floating
يَسْبَحُونَ
நீந்துகின்றன
Lash shamsu yambaghee lahaaa an tudrikal qamara wa lal lailu saabiqun nahaar; wa kullun fee falaki yasbahoon (Yāʾ Sīn 36:40)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
சூரியன் சந்திரனை அணுக முடியாது. இரவு பகலை முந்த முடியாது. (இவ்வாறே நட்சத்திரங்கள்) ஒவ்வொன்றும் தன்னுடைய வட்டவரைக்குள் நீந்திச் செல்கின்றன.
English Sahih:
It is not allowable [i.e., possible] for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. ([36] Ya-Sin : 40)
