Yunus Verse 43

And some of them look at you, but can you guide the blind even though they cannot see?[[ This refers metaphorically to the pagans who fail to see and hear the truth.]]

And among them are some who look at you, but can you guide the blind even though they have no sight?

And some of them look unto thee; what, wilt thou then guide the blind, though they do not see?

Some of them look at you: but can you guide the blind if they will not see?

And of them are some who look at thee, so canst thou guide the blind, even though they see not?

And among them are some who look at thee; but canst thou guide the blind,- even though they will not see?

And of them some look towards you; will you, then, guide the blind, even though they can see nothing?

Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see?

And among them is one who gazes at you; so will you guide the blind* even if they cannot perceive? (* Deaf or blind to guidance.)

There are some of them who observe you. But can you guide the blind even if they do not perceive?

Among them are such as look towards you, but how can you guide the blind (to the right way), if they are lacking the power of (in)sight?

And some of them (appear to) look at you, but can you guide the blind even though they would not care to see (the right guidance)?

And from them who looks to you, so do you guide the blind/confused and (even) if they were not seeing/understanding ?

And among them is one who gazes at you; so will you guide the blind * even if they cannot perceive? (* Deaf or blind to guidance.)

There are some of them who listen to you. But can you make the deaf to hear, when they have no understanding (or sense)?

And among them are some who look at you, but can you guide the blind, even though they see not?

And of them are some who listen to thee. But canst thou make the deaf to hear, though they will not understand?

And there are those of them who look at you, but can you show the way to the blind though they will not see?

And of them is he who looketh toward thee. But canst thou guide the blind even though they see not?

Some of them will look at you, but are you supposed to guide the blind even if they have no vision?

Some of them look to you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see?

And among them are some who look at you, but can you guide the blind -- even though they see not

Some of them look fixedly at you; but can you make the blind see, bereft as they are of sight?

And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind, even though they do not see?

And of them are some who look toward you. But will you guide the blind, even though they do not see? -- He likens them [the Meccan disbelievers] to these [the blind] because they fail to be guided, nay, [they are] much worse [since God says]; It is not the eyes that are blind, but blind are the hearts within the breasts [Q. 22;46].

وَمِنهُم مَّن يَنظُرُ إِلَيْكَ


And among them are some who look at you,

They look at you and at what Allah has given you in terms of dignity, noble personality and great conduct. There is in all of this clear evidence of your Prophethood to those who have reason and insight. Other people also look but they do not receive guidance like them. Believers look at you with respect and dignity while disbelievers regard you with contempt.

وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلاَّ هُزُواً

And when they see you, they treat you only in mockery. (25;41)

أَفَأَنتَ تَهْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُواْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ



but can you guide the blind -- even though they see not!

Then Allah announces that He is never unjust with anyone. He guides whomever He wills and opens the eyes of the blind, makes the deaf hear and removes neglect from the hearts. At the same time He lets others go astray, moving away from faith. He does all of that yet He is always Just, for He is the Ruler and has full authority over His kingdom. He does whatever He wills without any restrictions. No one can question Him as to what He does while he will question everyone else. He is Omniscient, All-Wise, and All-Just.

So Allah said;
