ذٰلِكَ لِيَعْلَمَ اَنِّيْ لَمْ اَخُنْهُ بِالْغَيْبِ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِيْ كَيْدَ الْخَاۤىِٕنِيْنَ ۔ ( يوسف: ٥٢ )
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
liyaʿlama
لِيَعْلَمَ
he may know
annī
أَنِّى
that I
lam
لَمْ
not
akhun'hu
أَخُنْهُ
[I] betray him
bil-ghaybi
بِٱلْغَيْبِ
in secret
wa-anna
وَأَنَّ
and that
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
lā
لَا
(does) not
yahdī
يَهْدِى
guide
kayda
كَيْدَ
(the) plan
l-khāinīna
ٱلْخَآئِنِينَ
(of) the betrayers"
Zaalika liya'lama annee lam akhunhu bilghaibi wa annal laaha laa yahdee kaidal khaaa'ineen (Yūsuf 12:52)
Sahih International:
That is so he [i.e., al-Azeez] will know that I did not betray him in [his] absence and that Allah does not guide the plan of betrayers. (Yusuf [12] : 52)
1 Mufti Taqi Usmani
(Then Yūsuf said), “That was because he (the governor) may know that I did not betray him in his absence, and that Allah does not lead the guile of betrayers to success.
