وَاَقْسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ جَهْدَ اَيْمَانِهِمْۙ لَا يَبْعَثُ اللّٰهُ مَنْ يَّمُوْتُۗ بَلٰى وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَّلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَۙ  ( النحل: ٣٨ )

wa-aqsamū
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟
And they swear
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
by Allah
jahda
جَهْدَ
strongest
aymānihim
أَيْمَٰنِهِمْۙ
(of) their oaths
لَا
Allah will not resurrect
yabʿathu
يَبْعَثُ
Allah will not resurrect
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah will not resurrect
man
مَن
(one) who
yamūtu
يَمُوتُۚ
dies
balā
بَلَىٰ
Nay
waʿdan
وَعْدًا
(it is) a promise
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
upon Him
ḥaqqan
حَقًّا
(in) truth
walākinna
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
akthara
أَكْثَرَ
most
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the mankind
لَا
(do) not
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
know

Wa aqsamoo billaahi jahda aimaanihim laa yab'asul laahu mai yamoot; balaa wa'dan 'alaihi haqqanw wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya'lamoon (an-Naḥl 16:38)

Sahih International:

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes – [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know. (An-Nahl [16] : 38)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

They swore by Allah on solemn oaths: “Allah will not resurrect those who die.” Why not? It is a promise on His part, which is due to come true, but most of the people do not know.
