وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا اللّٰهَ عُرْضَةً لِّاَيْمَانِكُمْ اَنْ تَبَرُّوْا وَتَتَّقُوْا وَتُصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَ النَّاسِۗ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ   ( البقرة: ٢٢٤ )

tajʿalū
تَجْعَلُوا۟
make
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allahs (name)
ʿur'ḍatan
عُرْضَةً
an excuse
li-aymānikum
لِّأَيْمَٰنِكُمْ
in your oaths
an
أَن
that
tabarrū
تَبَرُّوا۟
you do good
watattaqū
وَتَتَّقُوا۟
and be righteous
watuṣ'liḥū
وَتُصْلِحُوا۟
and make peace
bayna
بَيْنَ
between
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِۗ
[the] people
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
samīʿun
سَمِيعٌ
(is) All-Hearing
ʿalīmun
عَلِيمٌ
All-Knowing

Wa laa taj'alul laaha 'urdatal li aymaanikum an tabarroo wa tattaqoo wa tuslihoo bainan naas; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem (al-Baq̈arah 2:224)

Sahih International:

And do not make [your oath by] Allah an excuse against being righteous and fearing Allah and making peace among people. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 224)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Do not make (the name of) Allah the subject of your oaths against your doing good, fearing Allah and setting things right between people. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
