Al-Baqarah Verse 227

But if they settle on divorce, then Allah is indeed All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

But if they are determined to divorce, then Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

but if they resolve on divorce, surely God is All-hearing, All-knowing.

but if they are determined to divorce, remember that God hears and knows all.

And if they resolve on divorcement, then verily Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

But if their intention is firm for divorce, Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

And if they resolve on divorce, (let them remember that Allah hears everything and knows everything.

And if they are bent on divorce, God hears all and knows everything.

And if they firmly decide to divorce them, Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.

But if they resolve on divorce, Allah is indeed all-hearing, all-knowing.

But if (the period ends and) they resolve on divorce, (know that) God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing, (well aware of what they say and do).

But if they have resolved on divorce, then (they should know that) surely Allâh is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

And if they decided/determined the divorce, (so) then God (is) hearing/listening knowledgeable.

And if they firmly decide to divorce them, Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.

And if they intend to divorce them, verily, remember Allah is Hearer and Knower.

And if they decide upon divorce, then Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

And if they resolve on a divorce, Allah is surely Hearing, Knowing.

And if they have resolved on a divorce, then Allah is surely Hearing, Knowing.

And if they decide upon divorce (let them remember that) Allah is Hearer, Knower.

If they choose divorce, God is All-hearing and All-knowing.

But if they resolve on divorce, surely, Allah is the Hearer, the Knower.

And if they decide upon divorce, then Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

but if they decide upon divorce, God is all hearing and all knowing.

And if they resolve to divorce—God is Hearing and Knowing.

But if they resolve upon divorce, by not repealing it, then let them go through with it; surely God is Hearing, of what they say; Knowing, of their resolve, meaning that after the waiting period mentioned, they can only revert or divorce.

And if they decide upon divorce, then Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

وَإِنْ عَزَمُواْ الطَّلَقَ
(And if they decide upon divorce),

indicating that divorce does not occur by merely passing the four month mark (during the Ila').

Malik reported from Nafi` that Abdullah bin Umar said,

"If the man swears to Ila' from his wife, then divorce does not occur automatically even after the four months have passed. When he stops at the four months mark, he should either divorce or return."

Al-Bukhari also reported this Hadith.

Ibn Jarir reported that Suhayl bin Abu Salih said that his father said,

"I asked twelve Companions about the man who does Ila' with his wife. They all stated that he does not have to do anything until the four months have passed and then has to either retain or divorce her."

Ad-Daraqutni also reported this from Suhayl.

It is also reported from Umar, Uthman, Ali, Abu Ad-Darda, Aishah, Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas.
