Al-Furqan Verse 46

causing the shade to retreat gradually?[[ This means that one of the great miracles of Allah is that He allows the sun to rise in the morning, causing darkness to retreat. He could have stopped the sun and the earth from rotating, so half of the world would be engulfed in complete darkness, leading to an imbalance in the earth’s eco-systems and endangering life on the planet. ]] 

Then We gradually draw it towards Us [as the sun climbs up]?

thereafter We seize it to Ourselves, drawing it gently.

but We gradually draw it towards Us, little by little.

Then We draw it toward Us with an easy drawing.

Then We draw it in towards Ourselves,- a contraction by easy stages.

then (as the sun climbs up), We roll it up little by little towards Ourselves.

Then We draw it back to Us, withdrawing it little by little.

We then gradually withdraw it towards Us.

Then We retract it toward Ourselves, with a gentle retracting.

And then (as the sun rises), We gradually draw it back up towards Us.

Then (as the sun rises higher in the sky), We withdraw it (- the shadow) to Ourselves; a gradual withdrawing.

Then We grasped it to Us easy grasping .

We then gradually withdraw it towards Us.

Have you not seen how your Lord spreads the shadow? Had He willed He could have made it still - We make the sun its guide,

Then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal.

Seest thou not how thy Lord extends the shade? And if He pleased, He would have made it stationary. Then We have made the sun an indication of it,

Then We take it to Ourselves, taking little by little.

Then We withdraw it unto Us, a gradual withdrawal?

Then He reduces it in gradual steps.

thereafter We seize it to Us withdrawing it gently.

Then We withdraw it towards Ourselves -- a gradual withdrawal.

then We withdrew it to Us, a gradual withdrawal.

Then We withdraw it towards Us gradually.

Then We retract it, the extended shadow, to Us by gentle retraction, subtle [retraction], through the rising of the sun.

Then We withdraw it towards Ourselves -- a gradual withdrawal.

This refers to the shade.

يَسِيرًا
(gradual) meaning slowly.

As-Suddi said;

"A gentle, concealed, withdrawal until there is no shade left on earth except under a roof or a tree, and the sun is shining on whatever is above it."

قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا
(a gradual withdrawal).

Ayub bin Musa said;

"Little by little.
