Ash-Shu'ara Verse 83

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.

“My Lord, grant me knowledge, and join me with the righteous,

My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous,

My Lord, grant me wisdom; join me with the righteous;

My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous.

"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;

(And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous,

O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous,

“My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.”

‘My Lord! Grant me [unerring] judgement, and unite me with the Righteous.

"My Lord! Grant me true, wise judgment, and join me with the righteous.

(Abraham then turned to his Lord and said,) `My Lord! grant me strong and right judgment and make me follow and join the righteous.

My Lord, grant/present for me judgment/rule and make me catch up/join with the correct/righteous

“My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.”

My Lord, grant me wisdom (or judgment), and let me join the righteous

My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous;

And Who will cause me to die, then give me life,

My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good

My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous.

Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones.

My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous.

My Lord! Bestow Hukm on me, and join me with the righteous.

My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous;

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.

My Lord! Grant me [unerring] judgement, knowledge, and unite me with the righteous, the prophets.

The Prayer of Ibrahim for Himself and for His Father

Allah tells about the prayer of Ibrahim;

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا



My Lord! Bestow Hukm on me,

Here Ibrahim, upon him be peace, asks his Lord to give him Hukm.

Ibn Abbas said,

"This is knowledge."

وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ



and join me with the righteous.

means, `make me one of the righteous in this world and the Hereafter.'

This is like the words the Prophet said three times when he was dying;

اللَّهُمَّ فِي الرَّفِيقِ الاَْعْلَى

O Allah, with the Exalted Companion (of Paradise).

وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الاْاخِرِينَ

And to Him I express my thoughts in my invocatory prayer, thus: "Confer on me O Allah, my Creator, wisdom to help me judge rightly in matters relating to physical and spiritual life and to impart to me soundness of judgement in the choice of means and ends, and unite me, O Allah, with the society of those in whose hearts reigns piety
