Ali 'Imran Verse 196

Do not be deceived by the prosperity of the disbelievers throughout the land.

Do not be deceived by the disbelievers’ prosperity in the land:

Let it not delude thee, that the unbelievers go to and fro in the land;

[Prophet], do not be deceived by the disbelievers’ [lucrative] trading to and fro in the land:

Let not beguile thee the moving to and fro about of those who disbelieve, in the cities

Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through the land deceive thee;

(O Messenger!) Do not let the strutting about of the unbelievers in the land deceive you.

Be not deceived by the comings and goings of unbelievers in the land.

O listener (followers of this Prophet)! Do not ever be deceived by the disbelievers’ free movements in the cities.

Never be misled by the bustle of the faithless in the towns.

Let it not deceive you (O Messenger) that those who disbelieve strut about the land in pomp and show of dominion.

Do not let the moving about in the land, of those who have disbelieved, deceive you.

(Let) not those who disbelieved`s turning (traveling) in the countries deceive you.

O listener (followers of this Prophet)! Do not ever be deceived by the disbelievers’ free movements in the cities.

It is but a brief comfort, and then their resort is Hell; an evil couch shall it be.

Let not the free disposal (and affluence) of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you.

So their Lord accepted their prayer, (saying): I will not suffer the work of any worker among you to be lost whether male or female, the one of you being the other. So those who fled and were driven forth from their homes and persecuted in My way and who fought and were slain, I shall truly remove their evil and make them enter Gardens wherein flow rivers -- a reward from Allah. And with Allah is the best reward.

Let it not deceive you that those who disbelieve go to and fro in the cities fearlessly.

Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad).

(Muhammad), do not be deceived by the changing activities of the unbelievers in different parts of the land.

Do not let the coming and going in the land of those who disbelieve delude you;

Let not the free disposal (and affluence) of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you.

Do not be deceived by the actions of those who deny the truth in the land:

Do not be impressed by the disbelievers’ movements in the land.

When the Muslims began to say, `Look at the enemies of God, how comfortable they are, while we are struggling!', the following was revealed; Let it not delude you, that the disbelievers go to and fro in the land, engaging in commerce and acquiring profit;

Warning Against Being Deceived by This Life; the Rewards of the Righteous Believers

Allah says;

لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي الْبِلَادِ



Let not the free disposal (and affluence) of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you.

Allah said, do not look at the disbelievers, who are enjoying various delights and joys. Soon, they will loose all this and be tied to their evil works, for verily, we are only giving them time, which deceives them.

when all they have is,

مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِيْسَ الْمِهَادُ
