وَاِذْ قَالَ لُقْمٰنُ لِابْنِهٖ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهٗ يٰبُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيْمٌ   ( لقمان: ١٣ )

wa-idh
وَإِذْ
And when
qāla
قَالَ
said
luq'mānu
لُقْمَٰنُ
Luqman
li-ib'nihi
لِٱبْنِهِۦ
to his son
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
while he
yaʿiẓuhu
يَعِظُهُۥ
(was) instructing him
yābunayya
يَٰبُنَىَّ
"O my son!
لَا
(Do) not
tush'rik
تُشْرِكْ
associate partners
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِۖ
with Allah
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-shir'ka
ٱلشِّرْكَ
associating partners
laẓul'mun
لَظُلْمٌ
(is) surely an injustice
ʿaẓīmun
عَظِيمٌ
great"

Wa iz qaala luqmaanu libnihee wa huwa ya'izuhoo ya bunaiya laa tushrik billaah; innash shirka lazulmun 'azeem (Luq̈mān 31:13)

Sahih International:

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with Him] is great injustice." (Luqman [31] : 13)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

(Remember) when Luqmān said to his son, while he was advising him, “My dear son, do not ascribe partners to Allah. Indeed, ascribing partners to Allah (shirk) is grave transgression.”
