Saba Verse 44

˹They say so even though˺ We had never given them any scriptures to study, nor did We ever send them a warner before you ˹O Prophet˺.

even though We did not give them any scriptures to study, nor did We send them any warner before you.

We have not given them any Books to study, nor have We sent them before thee any warner.

though We have not given them any books to study nor sent any warner before you.

And We had not vouchsafed Unto them Books they should have been studying, nor had We sent Unto them, before thee, any warner.

But We had not given them Books which they could study, nor sent messengers to them before thee as Warners.

whereas We gave them no Books that they could study nor sent to them any warner before you.

We did not give them any scripture to study, nor sent any warner before you.

And We did not give them any Books which they may read, nor did We send to them any Herald of Warning before you.

though We did not give them any scriptures that they might have studied, nor did We send them any warner before you.

But We did not grant them any Book which they studied (so that they should dare pretend to be able to discriminate between true and false scripture). Nor did We send them a warner before you (so that they should dare pretend to be able to distinguish you as being a fabricator and a sorcerer).

Whereas We had given them none of (Our) Books which they studied, nor did We send to them any Warner (in the recent past) before you (that they should have known the abuses involved in forging lies).

And what We give/bring them from books they study/memorize/read it, and what We sent them before you from a warner/giver of notice .

And We did not give them any Books which they may read, nor did We send to them any Herald of Warning before you.

And when Our clear communications are recited to them, they say, "This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped." And they say, "This is naught but a lie that is forged." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them, "This is only clear enchantment (magic)."

And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad SAW) any warner (Messenger).

And when Our clear messages are recited to them, they say: This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is naught but a forged lie! And those who disbelieve say of the Truth when it comes to them: This is only clear enchantment!

And We have not given them any books which they read, nor did We send to them before you a warner.

And We have given them no scriptures which they study, nor sent We unto them, before thee, any warner.

We did not send to them, (the pagans), any books to study nor a Messenger to warn them, and those who lived before them had rejected the Truth.

Yet We have not given them any Books to study, nor, before you, have We sent them a warner.

And We had not given them Scriptures that they could study, nor sent to them before you any warner.

We had not given them books to study, nor have We sent them a warner before you.

But We gave them no book to study, and We did not send them any warner before you.

And We did not give them any scriptures for them to study, nor did We send them any warner before you, so on what grounds do they deny you?

And We had not given them Scriptures that they could study, nor sent to them before you any warner.

meaning, Allah did not reveal any Book to the Arabs before the Qur'an, and He did not send any Prophet to them before Muhammad. They used to wish for that and say, `if only a warner comes to us or a Book is revealed to us, we would be more guided than others,' but when Allah blessed them with that, they disbelieved him and stubbornly rejected him.

Then Allah says
