Sad Verse 2

˹This is the truth,˺ yet the disbelievers are ˹entrenched˺ in arrogance and opposition.

yet those who disbelieve are in arrogance and dissension.

nay, but the unbelievers glory in their schism.

Yet the disbelievers are steeped in arrogance and hostility.

Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and shism.

But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism.

Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance.

But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility.

In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition.

the faithless indeed dwell in conceit and defiance.

However, those who disbelieve are lost in self-glory and opposition.

(There is nothing wrong with the Prophet,) the only thing is that the disbelievers are suffering from a sense of (false) pride and are hostile (to him).

But those who disbelieved (are) in glory/might/power and defiance/animosity .

In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition.

Nay! But those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation (pride) and separatism (schism).

Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition.

Truthful God! By the Qur’an, possessing eminence!

Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition.

Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism.

In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome.

No, the unbelievers exalt in their division.

Those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition.

Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility.

Those who disbelieve are steeped in arrogance and defiance.

Nay, but those who disbelieve, from among the people of Mecca, dwell in conceit, in self-glory and [in] disdain of faith, and defiance, disagreement with, and enmity towards, the Prophet (s).

Nay, those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition.

means, in this Qur'an there is a reminder for those who will be reminded and a lesson for those who will learn a lesson, but the disbelievers will not benefit from it because they
فِي عِزَّةٍ
(are in false pride) meaning, arrogance and tribalism,
وَشِقَاقٍ
(and opposition), means, they are stubbornly opposed to it and go against it.

Then Allah scares them with news of how the nations who came before them were destroyed because of their opposition to the Messengers and their disbelief in the Scriptures that were revealed from heaven.

Allah says
