Ad-Dukhan Verse 47

˹It will be said,˺ “Seize them and drag them into the depths of the Hellfire.

[It will be said], “Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire.

'Take him, and thrust him into the midst of Hell,

‘Take him! Thrust him into the depths of Hell!

Lay hold of him, and drag him Unto the midst of the Flaming Fire.

(A voice will cry; "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire!

“Seize him and drag him to the middle of the Blazing Fire,

"Seize him and drag him into the depths of Hell," (it will be said),

“Seize him, and forcibly drag him right to the blazing fire.”

[The keepers of hell will be told,] ‘Seize him and drag him to the middle of hell,

"(O angels of Hell!) Take him (the sinful one) and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Flame!

(The word shall then pass about the guilty,) `Take hold of him then drag him into the midst of Hell.

Take/punish him so pull or drag him violently to the Hell`s middle .

“Seize him, and forcibly drag him right to the blazing fire.”

(It will be said,) "Seize him, then drag him down into the midst of hell;

(It will be said) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire,

Like boiling water.

Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell;

(And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell,

(It will be said of such sinners), "Seize them and drag them into the middle of hell.

'Seize him and drag him into the center of Hell.

(It will be said:) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire,"

[A voice will cry], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of Hell.

Seize him and drag him into the midst of Hell!

`Seize him, it will be said to the Zabniya [the Guards of Hell], `seize the sinner', and drag him (read fa`tilhu or fa`tulhu), haul him away violently and brutally, to the midst of Hell-fire, [al-jahm means] the centre of the Fire.

خُذُوهُ

Seize him,

means the disbeliever.

It was reported that when Allah says to the keepers of Hell, "Seize him," seventy thousand of them will rush to seize him.

فَاعْتِلُوهُ

and drag him,

means, drag him by pulling him and pushing him on his back.

Mujahid said;

خُذُوهُ فَاعْتِلُوهُ
(Seize him and drag him) means, take him and push him.

إِلَى سَوَاء الْجَحِيمِ



into the midst of blazing Fire.

means, into the middle of it.

ثُمَّ صُبُّوا فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيمِ
