وَاِنِّيْ كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوْٓا اَصَابِعَهُمْ فِيْٓ اٰذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَاَصَرُّوْا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًاۚ   ( نوح: ٧ )

wa-innī
وَإِنِّى
And indeed I
kullamā
كُلَّمَا
every time
daʿawtuhum
دَعَوْتُهُمْ
I invited them
litaghfira
لِتَغْفِرَ
that You may forgive
lahum
لَهُمْ
them
jaʿalū
جَعَلُوٓا۟
they put
aṣābiʿahum
أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ
their fingers
فِىٓ
in
ādhānihim
ءَاذَانِهِمْ
their ears
wa-is'taghshaw
وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟
and covered themselves
thiyābahum
ثِيَابَهُمْ
(with) their garments
wa-aṣarrū
وَأَصَرُّوا۟
and persisted
wa-is'takbarū
وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
and were arrogant
is'tik'bāran
ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
(with) pride

Wa inee kullamaa da'awtuhum litaghfira lahum ja'alooo asaabi'ahum fee aazaanihim wastaghshaw siyaabahum wa asaarroo wastakbarus tikbaaraa (Nūḥ 71:7)

Sahih International:

And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. (Nuh [71] : 7)

Whenever I called them, so that You might forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, and wrapped their clothes around themselves, and grew obstinate, and waxed proud in extreme arrogance.
