اَلَّذِيْنَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ اِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوْا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ اِيْمَانًاۖ وَّقَالُوْا حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ ( آل عمران: ١٧٣ )
Allazeena qaala lahumun naasu innan naasa qad jama'oo lakum fakhshawhuin fazaadahum eemaannanwa wa qaaloo hasbunal laahu wa ni'malwakeel (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:173)
English Sahih:
Those to whom people [i.e., hypocrites] said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs." (Ali 'Imran [3] : 173)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Certes ceux auxquels l'on disait: «Les gens se sont rassemblés contre vous; craignez-les» - cela accrut leur foi - et ils dirent: «Allah nous suffit; Il est notre meilleur garant». (Ali-'Imran [3] : 173)

Les mécréants dirent à un groupe de croyants:
Les Quraychites, dirigés par `Abû Sufyân, ont réuni des troupes nombreuses afin de vous combattre et de vous anéantir. Prenez donc garde à eux et évitez d’aller à leur rencontre. Mais loin de les épouvanter, ces paroles et ces menaces raffermirent leur croyance en Allah et en la véracité de Sa promesse. Ils allèrent donc à la rencontre de l’ennemi en disant: Allah nous suffit et quel meilleur garant que Lui.
