وَلَوْ نَشَاۤءُ لَمَسَخْنٰهُمْ عَلٰى مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوْا مُضِيًّا وَّلَا يَرْجِعُوْنَ ࣖ ( يس: ٦٧ )
walaw
وَلَوْ
And if
Et si
nashāu
نَشَآءُ
We willed
Nous voulions,
lamasakhnāhum
لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ
surely We (would have) transformed them
Nous les transformerions certainement en les rendant pires
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
in
sur
makānatihim
مَكَانَتِهِمْ
their places
leurs positions
famā
فَمَا
then not
et alors ne pas
is'taṭāʿū
ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟
they would have been able
ils seraient capables
muḍiyyan
مُضِيًّا
to proceed
(d’)avancée
walā
وَلَا
and not
et ne
yarjiʿūna
يَرْجِعُونَ
return
pourraient (pas) retourner.
Wa law nashaaa'u lamasakhnaahum 'alaa makaanatihim famas-tataa'oo mudiyyanw-wa laa yarji'oon (Yāʾ Sīn 36:67)
English Sahih:
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return. (Ya-Sin [36] : 67)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Et si Nous voulions, Nous les métamorphoserions sur place; alors ils ne sauront ni avancer ni revenir. (Ya-Sin [36] : 67)
