Surah [4] An-Nisa' : 153
ARBNDEENIDTRUR

يَسۡــَٔـلُكَ اَهۡلُ الۡـكِتٰبِ اَنۡ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كِتٰبًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ‌ فَقَدۡ سَاَ لُوۡا مُوۡسٰٓى اَكۡبَرَ مِنۡ ذٰ لِكَ فَقَالُوۡۤا اَرِنَا اللّٰهَ جَهۡرَةً فَاَخَذَتۡهُمُ الصّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلۡمِهِمۡ‌‌ ۚ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُوا الۡعِجۡلَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ الۡبَيِّنٰتُ فَعَفَوۡنَا عَنۡ ذٰ لِكَ‌‌‌‌ ۚ وَاٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسٰى سُلۡطٰنًا مُّبِيۡنًا(النساء :153)

يَسْـَٔلُكَ
Ask you
أَهْلُ
(the) People
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book
أَن
that
تُنَزِّلَ
you bring down
عَلَيْهِمْ
to them
كِتَٰبًا
a book
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ
the heaven
فَقَدْ
Then indeed
سَأَلُوا۟
they (had) asked
مُوسَىٰٓ
Musa
أَكْبَرَ
greater
مِن
than
ذَٰلِكَ
that
فَقَالُوٓا۟
for they said
أَرِنَا
"Show us
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
جَهْرَةً
manifestly"
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
so struck them
ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
the thunderbolt
بِظُلْمِهِمْۚ
for their wrongdoing
ثُمَّ
Then
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
they took
ٱلْعِجْلَ
the calf (for worship)
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
جَآءَتْهُمُ
came to them
ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ
the clear proofs
فَعَفَوْنَا
then We forgave them
عَن
for
ذَٰلِكَۚ
that
وَءَاتَيْنَا
And We gave
مُوسَىٰ
Musa
سُلْطَٰنًا
an authority
مُّبِينًا
clear

Yasaluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzila 'alayhim kitaban mina alssamai faqad saaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arina Allaha jahratan faakhathathumu alssa'iqatu bithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo al'ijla min ba'di ma jaathumu albayyinatu fa'afawna 'an thalika waatayna moosa sultanan mubeenan

Sahih International:

The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, "Show us Allah outright," so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And We gave Moses a clear authority.
