وَشَرَوْهُ بِثَمَنٍۢ بَخْسٍ دَرَاهِمَ مَعْدُوْدَةٍ ۚوَكَانُوْا فِيْهِ مِنَ الزَّاهِدِيْنَ ࣖ ( يوسف: ٢٠ )

എണ്ണിക്കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ട

and they were
അവരായിരുന്നുതാനും

فِيهِ

അദ്ദേഹത്തി (ന്റെ കാര്യത്തി)ല്‍
mina l-zāhidīna
مِنَ ٱلزَّٰهِدِينَ
of those keen to give up
ത്യാഗികളില്‍ (താല്‍പര്യമില്ലാത്ത - ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്തവരില്‍) പെട്ടവര്‍
Wa sharawhu bisamanim bakhsin daraahima ma'doo datinw wa kaanoo feehi minaz zaahideen (Yūsuf 12:20)
English Sahih:
And they sold him for a reduced price – a few dirhams – and they were, concerning him, of those content with little. (Yusuf [12] : 20)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവരവനെ കുറഞ്ഞ വിലയ്ക്ക് വിറ്റു. ഏതാനും നാണയത്തുട്ടുകള്‍ക്ക്. അവനില്‍ ഒട്ടും താല്‍പര്യമില്ലാത്തവരായിരുന്നു അവര്‍. (യൂസുഫ് [12] : 20)

അവര്‍ അവനെ തുച്ഛമായ ഒരു വിലയ്ക്ക് - ഏതാനും വെള്ളിക്കാശിന് - വില്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവര്‍ അവന്‍റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ താല്പര്യമില്ലാത്തവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിരുന്നു.[1]
[1] വീണുകിട്ടിയ ഒരു ബാലന് വിലയായി എന്ത് കിട്ടിയാലും തരക്കേടില്ല എന്നതായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ നിലപാട്.
