فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوْا عَلَيْهِ قَالُوْا يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْعَزِيْزُ مَسَّنَا وَاَهْلَنَا الضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَاعَةٍ مُّزْجٰىةٍ فَاَوْفِ لَنَا الْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَاۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَجْزِى الْمُتَصَدِّقِيْنَ ( يوسف: ٨٨ )
Falammaa dakhaloo 'alaihi qaaloo yaaa ayyuhal 'Azeezu massanaa wa ahlanad durru wa ji'naa bibidaa 'timmuzjaatin fa awfi lanal kaila wa tasaddaq 'alainaa innal laaha yajzil mutasaddiqeen (Yūsuf 12:88)
English Sahih:
So when they entered upon him [i.e., Joseph], they said, "O Azeez, adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods poor in quality, but give us full measure and be charitable to us. Indeed, Allah rewards the charitable." (Yusuf [12] : 88)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അങ്ങനെ അവര് യൂസുഫിന്റെ അടുത്ത് കടന്നുചെന്നു. അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: ''പ്രഭോ, ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബത്തെയും വറുതി ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. താണതരം ചരക്കുമായാണ് ഞങ്ങള് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതിനാല് അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് അളവ് പൂര്ത്തീകരിച്ചുതരണം. ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് ദാനമായും നല്കണം. ധര്മിഷ്ഠര്ക്ക് അല്ലാഹു അര്ഹമായ പ്രതിഫലം നല്കും; തീര്ച്ച.'' (യൂസുഫ് [12] : 88)

അങ്ങനെ യൂസുഫിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കടന്ന് ചെന്നിട്ട് അവര് പറഞ്ഞു: പ്രഭോ, ഞങ്ങളെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബത്തേയും ദുരിതം ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. മോശമായ ചരക്കുകളേ ഞങ്ങള് കൊണ്ടുവന്നിട്ടുള്ളൂ. അതിനാല് താങ്കള് ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് അളവ് തികച്ചുതരികയും, ഞങ്ങളോട് ഔദാര്യം കാണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യണം. തീര്ച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹു ഉദാരമതികള്ക്ക് പ്രതിഫലം നല്കുന്നതാണ്.
