فَانْطَلَقَا ۗحَتّٰىٓ اِذَآ اَتَيَآ اَهْلَ قَرْيَةِ ِۨاسْتَطْعَمَآ اَهْلَهَا فَاَبَوْا اَنْ يُّضَيِّفُوْهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيْهَا جِدَارًا يُّرِيْدُ اَنْ يَّنْقَضَّ فَاَقَامَهٗ ۗقَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ اَجْرًا ( الكهف: ٧٧ )
Fantalaqaa hattaaa izaaa atayaaa ahla qaryatinis tat'amaaa ahlahaa fa abaw any yudaiyifoohumaa fawajadaa feehaa jidaarany yureedu any yanqadda fa aqaamah; qaala law shi'ta lattakhazta 'alaihi ajraa (al-Kahf 18:77)
English Sahih:
So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so he [i.e., al-Khidhr] restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment." (Al-Kahf [18] : 77)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
പിന്നെയും അവരിരുവരും മുന്നോട്ടുനീങ്ങി. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു നാട്ടിലെത്തിയപ്പോള് ആ നാട്ടുകാരോട് അവര് അന്നം ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാല് അവര്ക്ക് ആതിഥ്യം നല്കാന് നാട്ടുകാര് സന്നദ്ധരായില്ല. അവിടെ പൊളിഞ്ഞുവീഴാറായ ഒരു മതില് അവര് കണ്ടു. അദ്ദേഹം അതു നേരെയാക്കി. മൂസ പറഞ്ഞു: ''താങ്കള്ക്കു വേണമെങ്കില് ഇതിന് പ്രതിഫലം വാങ്ങാമായിരുന്നു.'' (അല്കഹ്ഫ് [18] : 77)

അനന്തരം അവര് ഇരുവരും പോയി. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഇരുവരും ഒരു രാജ്യക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നപ്പോള് ആ രാജ്യക്കാരോട് അവര് ഭക്ഷണം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. എന്നാല് ഇവരെ സല്ക്കരിക്കുവാന് അവര് വൈമനസ്യം കാണിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. അപ്പോള് പൊളിഞ്ഞുവീഴാനൊരുങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു മതില് അവര് അവിടെ കണ്ടെത്തി. ഉടനെ അദ്ദേഹം അത് നേരെയാക്കി. മൂസാ പറഞ്ഞു: താങ്കള് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില് അതിന്റെ പേരില് താങ്കള്ക്ക് വല്ല പ്രതിഫലവും വാങ്ങാമായിരുന്നു.
