وَمَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِيْ يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ اِلَّا دُعَاۤءً وَّنِدَاۤءً ۗ صُمٌّ ۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ( البقرة: ١٧١ )
wamathalu alladhīna
وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ
And (the) example (of) those who
യാതൊരു കൂട്ടരുടെ ഉപമ, ഉദാഹരണം
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve[d]
അവര് അവിശ്വസിച്ചു
kamathali alladhī
كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى
(is) like (the) example (of) the one who
യാതൊരുവന്റെ മാതിരിയാണ്
yanʿiqu
يَنْعِقُ
shouts
അവന് ശബ്ദം (ഒച്ച)ഇടുന്നു
bimā lā yasmaʿu
بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ
at what not (does) hear
കേള്ക്കാത്ത (കേട്ടറിയാത്ത)തിനോട്
illā duʿāan
إِلَّا دُعَآءً
except calls
ഒരു വിളി (ക്കുന്ന ശബ്ദം)അല്ലാതെ
wanidāan
وَنِدَآءًۚ
and cries
ഒരു വിളി(തെളി)യും, സംബോധനവും
ṣummun
صُمٌّۢ
deaf
ബധിരര്
buk'mun
بُكْمٌ
dumb
ഊമകള്
ʿum'yun
عُمْىٌ
(and) blind
അന്ധന്മാര്
fahum
فَهُمْ
[so] they
അതിനാലവര്
lā yaʿqilūna
لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
(do) not understand
ഗ്രഹിക്കുകയില്ല
Wa masalul lazeena kafaroo kamasalil lazee yan'iqu bimaa laa yasma'u illaa du'aaa'anw wa nidaaa'aa; summum bukmun 'umyun fahum laa ya'qiloon (al-Baq̈arah 2:171)
English Sahih:
The example of those who disbelieve is like that of one who shouts at what hears nothing but calls and cries [i.e., cattle or sheep] – deaf, dumb and blind, so they do not understand. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 171)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
സത്യനിഷേധികളുടെ ഉപമ വിളിയും തെളിയുമല്ലാതൊന്നും കേള്ക്കാത്ത കാലികളോട് ഒച്ചയിടുന്നവനെ പോലെയാണ്. അവര് ബധിരരും മൂകരും കുരുടരുമാണ്. അവരൊന്നും ആലോചിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 171)
